Nuke-Evolution : Custom Map Reviews!
All, if you have not done so, get the KGC Map Pack! There are some nice maps to play on! I'd like to host some servers with just custom maps here and there, but we have to get everyone onboard with downloading the maps. Included are over 55 custom maps.

Here is a review of some the maps contained in the Map Pack!

Mission16_1 is an interesting twist to Sadr city. This review would be from that view of someone on the Red team! The map has been opened up and the streets slightly re-routed! The map offers more CQB street fighting with plenty of cubby's and carbage piles to use for cover while laying down covering fire as your team move from street to street. 3C has been split in half, Balcony has been opened up. Red Spawn has been re-routed through an urban area, which was previously not accessible, from there, you make your way up and around to the old balcony, through red square and around old red spawn ammo drop.. from there you come back up through red square through the balcony rocks running past the old red side entrance to 3c, into an area previously off-limiits. Around through the right side of 3c through the rocks in 1c.. up through 1c, back through 3c.. then around through the offmap area behind 3c which offers cubby's and small objects for cover! then! into barrel square which has been closed off due to re-routing!..then into barrel alley, end of barrel alley is opened up and you can turn right and fight in the small open area at the end of the alley.. there is a house and other objects you can use for cover, then you run through humvee and turn left where a wall divides.. then blue spawn is slightly changed around and rerouted.. check it out for yourself for the full effect!!! I like this twist of sadr city in the fact that it was opened up and there are more areas to fight in rather than the same old streets of Sadr City!

GTown is an excellent Red on Blue Map! It is opened up and L-Shaped.. the walls and other objects have been reshaded. There are sniper points.. vehicles and other buildings and obstacles to use for cover. This map created by former members of the old school kumawar clan Gorganites. It is quality work and the pride shows in the finished map.

Mission42_alt1 a remake of the Afghan Highlands map, it has a more open "paintball Stadium" feel to it!, no more getting stuck at the sandbag choke point between red and blue teams.. battle in the garbage dump for ground.. Added some small sandbag bunkers for making your run from spawn to map smoother transition! lol nothing like getting PwNeD tryin to get out of your spawn! The opened up map features some urban warfare house to house fighting as if you were in a small village in the afghan mountains. This map is best played with about 14 players due to the ease of teams have more open areas to move across the map! The outter areas outside the map are completely covered in mine fields.. someone gets killed by a mine? guess we know who is not in the map Wink

Blades Battle- is a "Sadr city" like map in that it has the feel of it, but layed out differently. There are some small vantage points and cubby's in the map, to give you cover while fighting street to street and house to house in a CQB setting. There are weapon drops incse you or your team get low on ammo! This map has some nice work and shows promise to be a frequently hosted map.

All the DD maps are very cool! I like the maps with the german charectors. These maps are well planned and are great to play in coop! The maps themselves have some intersting features and themes to them! Whether it be the airfields or control towers over the air strips.. or the church bell tower thats been damaged from bombing raids by allied forces! The german cycle with sidecart is probably my favorite item in the maps.. when you play the maps that have japanese enemies, they have some cars and trucks you can drive that give you the ability to move from area to area quickly to accomplish your mission. Great job GI on those maps, they are a welcomed edition to kumawar!

GhostTown is an excellent map! I was saving review of this map for last because its probably one of the best kumawar maps made by a member of the community. This map features Red vs Blue style fighting. Included in the map are some nice weapons for both teams! 1st off would be the TANK. Each team has tank on their side of the map! drive your tank over and pound the opposing forces into submission. There are helicopters that fly over the map. There is a crashed helo in the center of the map. There is a sniper tower, there is rooftop access for vantage point sniping. If you have not checked out The Ghost Town map, you're missin out!!

More reviews of community member custom maps and kumagames maps to come!

Nuke-Evolution : KGC Shotgrun FFA Results
Today we had the Shotgun FFA! we played a practice round then got into the game and about halfway through the server dropped because of an xfire error. After restarting the game, GoW Wraith successfully completed the match and was the 1st to obtain 50points! Great job Wraith on winning the Shotgun FFA (#1).

With the introduction of the tournament site, it makes it easy for us to track player progress and it gives us a way to send out tournament information to the players.
Thanks to everyone who registered and showed up! It was great fun. Next weekend we will be hosting The KGC FFA Masters Round 2 of 4 on saturday at noon central time and on Sunday we will be hosting the Sniper Fest FFA!

Great Job everyone!

Nuke-Evolution : GoW Rich Wins Round 1 of the KGC FFA Masters Tournament
Good job to everyone who registered and showed up to play! it was a close game.. GoW Rich actually completed to the end to reach 50 points fist. SIM Biggy came in close with 45 points, Allen from GoW came in with 41 points and KWA - 69 had dropped out with 46 points but came back in and it was just about over, then he actually racked up 3 points after coming back in and GoW Rich completed with 50 points. I did not see his score when 69 dropped out, but we will take actions to help to ensure player scores are noted when they drop. KWA-69 did a great job in both practice prior to the match and during the match with respect to scores, and if it was not for the drop at the end, it may have turned out differrently! I am going to ask some other community memebers to sit in to help monitor the scores incase of a drop, this way we can pause the game, make note of the dropped players score and once they enter again, apply that score to what they accumulate after a drop. We actually base the win on the accumulated points and not kills, you lose a point for each time you accidentally kill yourself while playing in game.

KGC Game Server was running in dedicated mode. Hardware is an Intel Duo Core 2 CPU, 1GB ram and running on comcast cable modem. Round 2 promises to be harsh territory for all competitors as we have something in mind for the next map!

I would like to thank everyone who participated and to get ready for round 2

RICH has guaranteed himself in the Final Round which will happen in 4 weeks, so keep watching the xfire page, kgc main site, forums and the league site!

We will be posting an announcement on the www.gamespy.com/network/ page so the other communities in the gamespy.com network can see what we're upto!

Thank you!
